Personality[edit | edit source]

Takato is, by all definitions, a colossal dork. A huge fan of cartoons, comics, Digimon and card games, Takato has all the hallmarks of classic dweebery. He's timid, reserved, meek and very, very awkward. In spite of his flaws, Takato is a gentle soul with a heart of gold who always exudes a good-natured charm to him. Takato drew his own Digimon "OCs" which is how Guilmon came to be. Takato tends to make friends fairly quickly, becoming best friends with Henry Wong very quickly and even warmed the heart of Rika Nonaka with his kindness. Takato is best friends with Kazu and Kenta, who are almost as big of dorks as he is, only they had alusions of grandeur and believed themselves to be cool kids. Although their friendship seemed one-sided at times, Kazu and Kenta often showed that they cared about Takato in subtle ways, such as standing by him when he got punished. During the last stretches of the anime, Kazu and Kenta fought side-by-side Takato with Kenta even saving Takato's neck during the last stretches of the JERI TYPE arc.

Under Takato's sweet, caring and gentle nature hides an immense darkness. After seeing the absoulute horror of Beelzemon's actions and zero regard for life, Takato snapped and displayed vehement hatred that was wholly out of character, such anger to invoke the darkness of Guilmon, creating the horrific Megidramon. Under this violent anger, Takato showed a disturbingly blood thirsty side to him, but even in his worst, he remained a loyal friend, even if his kindness melted away.

Mythology[edit | edit source]

As with most tamers, Takato doesn't have much in the way of actual mythology surronding his nature. A powerful tamer, Takato was capable of standing up to Gankoomon and fought him side-by-side Taichi.
